Review: Mockingbird Cafe in Basking Ridge; A Glass for IPAs Designed by Dogfish Head & Sierra Nevada; Genius Health Video

Basking Ridge residents have taken a shine to the super-casual Mockingbird Cafe. Will you?

Here’s my review, from the February issue of New Jersey Monthly.

Speaking of that magazine, be sure to vote online in the 30th annual readers poll. You can win dinner for 2 at the Best of the Best in your region.

(If you don’t bother to vote, don’t come crying to me about how your favorite restaurant was left off the list.)

Who knew? IPAs haven’t had their own glass – until now

Spiegelau's IPA glass

Spiegelau’s IPA glass

Delaware’s Dogfish Head Brewery and Sierra Nevada have teamed up with Spiegelau to perfect a glass specifically designed to bring out the unique characteristics of India Pale Ale. Check out the story from the folks at Dogfish.  I’m not enough of a beer connoisseur to discern if the particular glass configuration they show makes sense, but I’m willing to give it a go. Actually, several goes.

Now here’s how to communicate good science!

I don’t usually post health-related anything. The closest I’ve come was, ironically, when I extolled these sugar cookies wrapped cookiesmy group exercise instructor hands out each Christmas. Not especially helpful, I recognize. But this short video titled 23 and 1/2 hours about the single best thing we can do for our health is pure genius.
Agree?
